How to get to Budapest city center

Public Transport

Bus No. 200E runs between Budapest Liszt Ferenc International Airport and Kőbánya-Kispest metro station where you can change to metro line 3 that goes directly to the city center.

Do not forget to buy a single ticket or a pass before you take the bus!


Airport Shuttle or taxi

You can choose a direct shuttle between your hotel and the airport. More info →

If you prefer taxi, please take note that the only official partner of the airport is Főtaxi. Their service is provided by booths at the entrances of the Terminal.

Do not accept any other offers! The fare should be clearly visible on the center console or above it and calculated by the distance covered during your trip.

How to reach our campuses

Budapest, Sophianum

There are several possibilities to reach our building at Mikszáth Kálmán square. You can get there from the direction of Kálvin tér station that could be reached by metro lines 3 and 4, or by trams 47 or 49. Or you can get to Mikszáth Kálmán square from Harminckettesek tere tram station of the trams 4 or 6.


Budapest, Tárogató út

First of all you should get to "Széll Kálmán tér" (Széll Kálmán square) by metro line 2, or by several trams (4, 6, 17, 56, 56A, 59, 59A, 59B, 61) or buses (16, 16A, 21, 21A, 22, 91, 102, 128, 129, 139, 140, 140A, 142, 149, 155, 156, 222). Then take trams 56 or 56A to "Kelemen László utca" (Kelemen László street) station.


Piliscsaba

Take the train from platform No. 2. from "Nyugati pályaudvar" (Nyugati Railway station) to Pázmáneum station. You can also take coach No. 800 from Árpád híd (Árpád Bridge) Volánbusz coach station and take off at Pázmány station.

Esztergom

Take the train from platform No. 2. from Nyugati pályaudvar (Nyugati Railway station) to the final station (Esztergom). You can also take coach No. 800 from Árpád híd (Árpád Bridge) Volánbusz coach station and take off at the final station (Esztergom).

Accommodation

Foreign students might find accommodation either in private flats or in dormitories.

Please note, you should arrange your accommodation yourself by the time you arrive at PPCU. The International Office does NOT deal with booking accommodation for students.

There are two possible ways to arrange accommodation:

1. Search for available flats and rooms yourself. You can rent an apartment or a flat in Budapest. It costs approximately HUF 50,000-100,000 or 200-300 Euros per month + utilities.
