For Institutional Authors:
Open Access publishing free of Article Processing Charge
Open Access/OA is a publishing model that allows content to be published digitally and made accessible without charge to the end-user (subject to the terms of an applicable Creative Commons License).
Pázmány Péter Catholic University (PPCU) is a participating institution of the Hungarian Electronic Information Service Programme (EIS) which is designed to purchase and make available essential electronic information resources via national licensing for higher education and scientific research.
Agreements - first time signed in 2019 - facilitate publishing opportunities for Hungarian researchers affiliated with EISZ-participating institutions. Open access charges (publication fee, article processing charge or APC) are already prepaid during the running period. Agreements include both the costs of the library subscriptions as well as the costs of open access publishing. EIS programme thus covers APC costs through accounts with publishing partners.
Open Access articles can be published both in fully open (gold) or hybrid journals issued by the contracted publishers.
Special requirements: The author or a co-author should be affiliated with PPCU; affiliation and assigned funder details should match to the Hungarian OA-agreements. To publish open access using institutional OA-agreement, affiliated author must be the corresponding author.
