National Higher Education Scholarship

Call for applications for the national higher education scholarship for the 2024/2025 academic year, awarded by the Minister of Higher Education

In accordance with Act No. CCIV of 2011 on national higher education, and government regulation No. 51/2007. (III. 26.) on allowances and charges to be paid by higher education students, and based on Paragraph 10 of Pázmány Péter Catholic University's Regulations on student fees and benefits the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences of PPCU announces a call for the national higher education scholarship in the academic year 2024/2025.

 

Conditions for application

Applications  may  be  submitted  for  the  national  higher education scholarship by students of PPCU FHSS attending full-time bachelor or master level education, or undivided education in a state-subsidized (state scholarship, part-scholarship) or self-funded/fee-paying form, who have registered for two semesters during their studies as a minimum, and acquired at least 55 credit points.

The national higher education scholarship - based on the ranking proposed by the University - shall be awarded by the Minister of Higher Education. The monthly amount of the national higher education scholarship shall be HUF 40,000/person in the academic year 2024/2025 in accordance with Article No. 114/D(1)(c) of Nftv.

The national higher education scholarship shall be granted for the duration of one full academic year (10 months). Students who are awarded the national higher education scholarship may not be excluded from the course scholarship grant.

A scholarship awarded for the academic year 2024/2025 may be paid in the academic year 2024/2025 only. If the student completes his/her studies in an odd semester (i.e. at the end of the autumn semester of the academic year 2024/2025), in line with the educational period, his/her entitlement to the national higher education scholarship  shall be subject to the continuance of his/her studies in the following semester (i.e. in the spring semester of the academic year 2024/2025).

In the event that the student’s student status is terminated or suspended in accordance with Article No. 59/1 of Nftv – with the exception of the specific case detailed in the previous point - the student in question shall not be eligible to receive further scholarship disbursements. Also undergraduate students are eligible for the scholarship, who complete their studies but continue in the master cycle in the 1st semester of the 2024/2025 academic year.

 

Submitting of applications

Applications shall be sent by mail to the address of the Dean's Office of Pázmány Péter Catholic University Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences (1088 Budapest, 1 Mikszáth Kálmán square) by 9 July 2024 (Tuesday), 12:00. Please write on the envelope: Pályázat Nemzeti Felsőoktatási Ösztöndíjra

 

On the front of the call, please state with block letters or typed out:
  • Name of the applicant
  • Name of the applicant's department(s)
  • Level of education of the applicant (BA, MA, or undivided)

In justified cases, and based on appointment preliminarily agreed via phone, applications can be submitted personally until the above mentioned deadline in the Dean's Office of PPKE BTK (1 Mikszáth Kálmán Square, Budapest, H-1088).

Failure to comply with a term of preclusion leads to the loss of the relevant right, and cannot be remedied by providing justification.

There is no possibility for remedy of deficiencies after handing in an application.

It's the applicant's duty that the submitted data and certificates are unequivocal, evaluable and can be graded, deficient data will not be taken into account by the Vice Dean for Academic Affairs and will not be given points. Submitting false data on the application results in the immediate disqualification from the application process.

The student must prove the reality of the content of the application in a credible way (by attaching relevant documents, etc.).

Evaluation and submission of applications

Ranking is performed by the Vice Dean for Academic Affairs.

Criteria for assessment can be read here.

Deadline for the assessment of applications is 10 July 2024.

Applicants will be informed personally about the score awarded by the Vice Dean for Academic Affairs by 11 July 2024.

Appeals can be submitted to the Dean of the Faculty against the scores awarded by the Vice Dean for Academic Affairs (in the event of a detected infringement). Deadline for arrival of appeals is 12 July 2024, 13:00.

Failure to comply with a term of preclusion leads to the loss of the relevant right, and cannot be remedied by providing justification.

The committee designated by the Dean will rule on the appeals by 15 July 2024, and notify the students in writing.

The Minister of Higher Education will make a decision on awarding scholarships.

Students who are awarded a scholarship will be notified by the Dean in September 2024.
