The event kicked off with a hearty welcome by Michael McAteer, lecturer at Pázmány's Institute of English and American Studies and head of the Irish Studies Research Group.

He was followed by Vice-Rector Krisztián Vincze, who gave a presentation about the university's more-than-300-year history, its post-communist renewal, and its ongoing mission. Károly Pintér, Head of the Institute of English and American Studies, also welcomed guests before the first plenary lecture. The opening day concluded with a standing reception.

The robust schedule featured internationally recognized plenary speakers—including Brian Ó Conchubhair, Sonja Lawrenson, Sorcha de Brún, Eglantina Remport, and Aidan O’Malley—complemented by evening book launches, poetry readings, and a classical music concert.

Acclaimed Irish poet Sinéad Morrissey delivered a memorable reading, and participants also had time to explore the sights of Budapest.
