The conference launches the international multidisciplinary research project “On the Border Between Humans and Machines: Artificial Intelligence, Ethics, and New Regulatory Norms”. The initiative examines the ethical, legal, anthropological, and regulatory implications of the rapid expansion of artificial intelligence, with a strong focus on safe, transparent, responsible, and human-centred AI.
The project is implemented through international cooperation with The Catholic University of America (Washington, D.C.) and other partners, and brings together expertise from theology, philosophy, ethics, law, and AI safety and interpretability research. Its core ambition is to rethink human dignity, freedom, responsibility, and truth in an era in which algorithmic systems increasingly shape decisions, content creation, and interpretation.
The research addresses five particularly sensitive fields: care and healthcare, economy, peace and security, education, and governance and control. The conference presents the project’s goals and institutional background, while also creating a forum for dialogue among academic, governmental, technological, and international partners. The programme begins at 9:00 CET with an in-person morning session in Hungarian and continues from 15:00 CET with an English-language international online session.
