For this conference, the head of the Department of Armenian Studies, Dr. Bálint Kovács, and lecturer of the Department, Dr. Karen Jallatyan, will also give presentations. This international conference was made possible by a cooperation agreement between the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation in Lisbon, the GWZO and the Pázmány Péter Catholic University with the goal of promoting research related to Armenian Studies, especially on social changes, including those pertaining to the Armenian diaspora. The organizers of the conference, Dr. Hakob Matevosyan (Leipzig) and Dr. Vahe Sahakyan (Ann Arbor), have created a conceptual framework to present the complexity of cultural identities and belongings in the Armenian Diaspora from historical, contemporary and comparative perspectives.
