Intersemiotic translation research workshop (9 and 10 January 2018)

Károly Pintér the Head of the Institute of English and American Studies welcomed the participants of the intersemiotic translation workshop invited by Anikó Sohár on behalf of the Hieronymus research group.

Karen Bennett (Department of Languages, Literatures and Cultures, University of Lisbon), Michael Cronin (French Department, Trinity College Dublin), Luc van Doorslaer (CETRA, KU Leuven/Department of Translation and Interpretation Studies, University of Tartu), Zsuzsa Csikai, Márta Kóbor (University of Pécs), Bálint Veres (Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design Budapest), József Bendik, Gyöngyvér Bozsik, Melinda Dabis, Dalma Galambos, Fruzsina Kovács, Anikó Sohár, and others were talking about their past and present research projects and future plans related to or within intersemiotic translation. The participants have agreed that they will launch a joint research project on the role of intersemiotic translation in disseminating smaller literatures starting with intersemiotic translations of Hungarian literature into Dutch, Estonian, Irish, and Portuguese.
