Armenian Lost Cities: Histories, Imageries, and Perceptions
A PPKE BTK Armenológiai Tanszéke online nyilvános szemináriumsorozatot hirdet, amely az elmúlt három évben zajlott kutatóprojekt eredményeit ismerteti a PPKE Oktatóinak és doktoranduszainak, továbbá örményországi és amerikai történészek, múzeológusok, antropológusok bevonásával.
A kutatóprojekt egyik eredménye volt a PPKE társrendezésében lezajlott kiállítás a Petőfi Irodalmi Múzeumban, 2026 március 19-től.
Seminar Series: Armenian Lost Cities: Histories, Imageries, and Perceptions
The Department of Armenian Studies at Pázmány Péter Catholic University in Budapest is organising a series of public online seminars, Armenian Lost Cities: Histories, Imageries, and Perceptions.
From 23 September to 16 December 2026, we will host twelve contributors to the forthcoming volume Armenian Lost Cities: Histories, Imageries, and Perceptions, edited by Dr Karen Jallatyan and Dr Konrad Siekierski and scheduled for publication in 2027. The volume and the seminar series are the outcomes of the Lost-but-Found: Armenian Capital Ani at Contested Crossroads research project, funded by the Gerda Henkel Foundation from 2022 to 2026.
The seminars will take place on Zoom on Wednesdays, from 18:00 to 19:30 (Central European Time) and will consist of 30–45-minute presentations followed by Q&A sessions.
We warmly invite everyone interested in Armenian history, diaspora studies, memory studies, urban studies, cultural anthropology and related fields to join us.
