Habilitation Elke Hartmann

We congratulate Elke Hartmann, professor and co-founder of the Department of Armenian Studies on the successful completion of her habilitation at the Pázmány University!

As part of the habilitation procedure, Elke Hartmann presented her work in English and German at the Pázmány Péter Catholic University, to the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences on 21 April 2021.

The title of her lecture was „Integration and Fragmentation. Changes in the Political Organization of the Late Ottoman Empire.”

The title of her presentation was „The situation of Armenian Women in the Ottoman Empire.”

Professor Hartmann presented to a habilitation committee of three members chaired by Prof. Dr. Sándor Őze, that also included Prof. Dr. Hacik Rafi Gazer (Erlangen-Nürnberg) and Prof. Dr. Mihály Dobrovits (Budapest).

Due to the present pandemia circumstances the habilitation colloquium took place via videoconference.

Elke Hartmann's habilitation thesis was recently published in Hungarian by L'Harmattan Publishing House.
