Departmental Evening at Political Science

2013.12.05.
Due to some significant changes and important agreements in store for the Department of Political Science, a number of important announcements were made on December 4, at the annual party of the department.

Head of the Department Kálmán Pócza announced in his brief introductory that the department would start the next academic year in the Sophianum building in Budapest. A new talent care program called Political Pupils for Common Upping (PPCU) initiated by the undergraduate teaching assistants of the department was also presented. The aim of the latter is to develop a more competitive system of requirements, and to enhance students' activity at the department. In response to the presentation, Kálmán Pócza added that while higher requirements will naturally lead to sronger competition, the department will in turn provide a number of extra opportunities for students who show outstanding activity both in learning and in departmental life. These opportunities include grants, domestic and international internships, special recommendations and publication offers. During the following informal reception, students had the opportunity to ask their professors about the program. The evening cocluded with a getting-to-know game for first year students.

Special thanks to Dávid Mészáros, undergraduate teaching assistant for organizing the event, and to our professors, Kálmán Pócza, Zoltán Kántor, and Tamás Nyirkos for their participation.

János Makk, undergraduate teaching assistant
