Professor Anthony O’Hear is Director of the Royal Institute of Philosophy. He is a philosopher with a special interest in education. His areas of expertise are political philosophy and ethics, philosophy of science and philosophy of religion. His publications include Plato’s Children (2005), After Progress (1999), Beyond Evolution: Human Nature and the Limits of Evolutionary Explanation (1997), Introduction to the Philosophy of Science (1995). Professor O’Hear has also been editor of the journal Philosophy since 1995. He is also co-editor of The Fortnightly Review's new series. was a Government special adviser on education for approximately ten years. He was especially influential during the time of Margaret Thatcher and John Major as Prime Minister when he was teaching at Bradford University.

Professor Ferenc Hörcher is Director of the Institute of Philosophy at the Hungarian Academy of Sciences and Head of the PhD Program in Political Theory at the Pázmány Péter Catholic University. He was Visiting Scholar at the Nanovic Institute (University of Notre Dame), at the Max Planck Institute für Geschichte in Göttingen and a Mellon Research Fellow in Edinburgh.
