The Chinese Dream - Chinese Reality (Kínai álom - Kínai valóság) book was edited by Gergely Salát - head of the Chinese Department.

In 2014 we celebrated the 65th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Hungary and China. On this occasion the Modern East Asia Research Group of Pázmány Péter Catholic University organized a conference, which was the largest-ever conference about modern China-research in Hungary, considering the number of guest lecturers and the wide variety of topics covered. The present book contains the written version of the lectures of the conference.

The book gives an accurate picture about today’s China, the possibilities of Hungarian-Chinese relations, and the current state of China research in Hungary. The studies deal with various topics in connection with China: economy, domestic and foreign policy, army, art and literature and the past, present and future of Hungarian Chinese relations.
