Organised by Salto Euromed and the Latvian National Agency, the programme titled "Let's Cooperate in Euromed" took place in Sigulda, Latvia, from April 2 to 7, 2012. The programme featured 29 participants involved in youth projects, sharing their experiences, ideas and plans.
Besides participants from Europe, the PBA (partnership building activity) featured representatives of the Middle East, from Morocco, Algeria, Tunesia, Egypt, Jordan and Palestine. As a result, those from Europe gained insight into the everyday issues the youth of Arabic countries have to deal with and compare it to European experiences.
During the programme, trainers grouped the participants having similar project plans, tha aim of which is to decrease the distance between Europe and the Mediterranean region, thus strengthening the relations and cultural understanding and dissolving stereotypes at the same time.
The PBA allowed us to form a constructive relation with several non-governmental organisations. Moreover, in cooperation with two European and three Arabic countries, we plan to realise a project, that is going to be hosted by one of the Mediterranean countries.
