Minister for Human Resources Zoltán Balog handed the rank Research Faculty to Pázmány Péter Catholic University's Faculty of Information Technology for the period between 2013 and 2016.

Besides PPCU FIT, three other Hungarian faculties (Szent István University Faculty of Vetenirary Science, Szent Istávn University Faculty of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences, University of Pannonia Faculty of Engineering) qualified for the same rank for the above period.
