The goal of this 90-minute online meeting was to see the progress the participants had made in writing up their research, and also to plan ahead.
By the beginning of September 2020 most of the articles arrived and were ready to be handed over as a volume to the peer reviewers. But before doing so the participants of the September Zoom meeting saw it fit to look through the volume, read each other’s papers, establish and further strengthen links between them, by inserting comments for other authors, sharing information, adding references or relevant sources, in short, mutually supporting each other’s work by tightening the inner relations within the volume. Although a shared folder had been created for common resources prior to the May Workshop, it became clear in September that what best relates the individual researches and studies is when participants in each section read and comment on each other’s papers. As a consequence we decided at the September Progress Check Meeting that we would create a bibliography of our own publications that deal with Central European Shakespeares.
The Progress Check Meeting perfectly fulfilled its purpose in the sense that following the summer holidays it confirmed the progress in the project and helped maintain the project momentum.
