PPCU and Fu Jen Catholic University Sign Agreement

Representatives of Pázmány Péter Catholic University and Fu Jen Catholic University, Taiwan, signed an agreement of cooperation on April 7, 2011.

Fu Jen University's delegation visited PPCU at the Piliscsaba campus of the Faculty of Humanities. The delegation, lead by university president Bernard C. C. Li, included chief director of EU Centre, dean Su-Lee Tsai, director of Office of International Affairs, Terri Li-chi Yueh, coordinator of internatioanl affairs Janice Chang and Beatrice Huang, member of International Office of Education. Accompanying the delegation was Oliver Harn, associate of the Taiwan Embassy in Hungary.

Representing PPCU were vice-president Szabolcs Anzelm Szuromi, Faculty of Information Technology vice-dean Péter Szolgay, Faculty of Law and Political Sciences scholarship coordinator Pál Szilágyi as well as dean Máté Botos, advisor of international affairs Éva Martonyi, vice-dean of international relations Miklós Kőszeghy and head of International and Project Management Office Ildikó Ruzsits from the Faculty of Humanities.

The executives of the two universities reviewed the organizational set-up of the two institutions, designating the disciplines where the agreement can allow student exchange programs as well as combined training.

To support this, Mr. Li offered scholarships to PPCU students for all levels of training and Mr. Harn recommended language programs to those interested. As an initial move, PPCU's representatives offered an invitation for students of the Taiwan-based university to the summer trainings at the Faculty of Humanities and the Faculty of Law and Political Sciences.

Making these offers official, Bernard C. C. Li and Szabolcs Ancelm Szuromi signed an agreement of cooperation.

Following the meeting, the visiting delegation took part in a tour of the Piliscsaba campus.

PPCU is looking forward to greeting the first students from Taiwan this summer.
